The embassy hosted a reception ceremony on the occasion of Qatar National Day. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos Castaneda, judge at the Supreme court of justice Oscar Armando Pineda, Minister of Finance Nelson Fuentes, Defence Minister David Munguia Payes, Minister of Culture Silvia Elena Regalado, Minister of Education and Higher Education Carlos Mauricio Canjura, members of parliaments, judges at the constitutional court, and heads of diplomatic missions accredited by Elsalvador.  and a number of ranking officials and business personalities.

The Qatari Charge d’Affaires Tarik Othman Al Othman said that the founding of the country by Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani on December 18 of 1878 and its independence on September 3 of 1971. He also paid tribute to the role of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani for their role in the development of the country.
