Rules of concern to citizens

Security: Carrying weapons without permission from the security authorities is forbidden. Although, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises caution in mobility within cities to prevent casualties in unsafe areas.

Entrance Visa: Requires citizens to request permission to enter El Salvador and can be obtained by the Embassy of the Republic of El Salvador in Doha and cost US $30.00, or obtained in El Salvador's airport for 3 months for the amount of US $10.

Tourism: In the recent period the Salvadoran government began taking more in to consideration tourism by providing the means to facilitate the visit in many touristic centers in El Salvador. The most important action taken by the government, was to create a Tourism Police Unit and escorting them to touristic areas to provide security and ensure their safety .
