PROVISION OF FOOR AND FIRST NEED SUPPLIES TO COMMUNITIES AFFECTED IN EL SALVADOR BY COVID 19 AND THE TROPICAL STORMS AMANDA AND CRISTOBAL.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in El Salvador, in the face of the emergency situation in the country due to the world health crisis caused by COVID-19 and to the recent losses caused by tropical storms Amanda and Cristóbal, expresses its solidarity with El Salvadorans and with all the people who suffer the direct consequences of both emergencies.

In the context of this crisis, the Embassy of the State of Qatar is pleased to announce that donations of basic food and basic supplies were made for some of the most affected communities in the country.

We are pleased to report that, to date, more than 1,000 people have benefited from basic food or basic need supplies during the current crisis. The Embassy of de State of Qatar purchased more than 8,000 pounds of food, including: 3000 eggs, 1375 pounds of sugar, 1250 pounds of beans, 1250 packages of pasta, 1250 pounds of rice, 400 liters of oil, 1000 tomato sauces, 1000 pounds of cornmeal, 10000 cups of coffee, 155 pounds of milk, 50 roasted chickens, and 200 canned sardines. Additionally, other supplies were purchased such as 480 clothing, 500 rest products (such as inflatable beds, inflatable pillows and blankets), more than 1000 personal hygiene products (shampoo, deodorant, dental kits, soaps, etc.), 40 flashlights, 450 baby diapers, among others.

All this has been possible, thanks to the support and coordination of our collaborators: Municipality of Santo Tomás, Municipality of Usulután, World Vision, Biblical Baptist Tabernacle, Dar-Ibrahim Mosque, San Juan Pablo II Foundation and Forja Foundation, who delivered the food boxes and all the supplies to the affected areas, such as Ilopango, San Jacinto, Zaragoza, Santo Tomás, Usulután, among others.

The Embassy of the State of Qatar in El Salvador, reaffirms its commitment to continue its support through other efforts, to the crisis that the country is experiencing, trusting that with the help of all, El Salvador will emerge stronger from the current situation.
