​Qatar, Al Salvador Sign MoU in Field of Education

Qatar and El Salvador yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in field of education.
HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi and Foreign Minister of El Salvador Hugo Martinez signed the MoU.
The MoU covered the development of co-operation between the two countries, including the exchange of expertise, experiences, visits and best practices in the field of education.
Following the signing of the MoU, HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi held a meeting with the foreign minister of El Salvador, during which they discussed aspects of co-operation between Qatar and El Salvador in education sector and ways to support and develop it. 
Meanwhile, Martinez told reporters on the sidelines of a local ceremony that El Salvador had “very, very skilled” workers to offer Qatar which is set to host the 2022 World Cup.
Martinez said he was in negotiations with Qatari business leaders and officials about securing temporary employment for Salvadorans. “We are having negotiations about temporary workers, very, very skilled people, engineering people who work in aircraft maintenance and mechanics,” Martinez told reporters.
“Very qualified people and we are negotiating that and we hope that we will achieve agreement.”
The two countries are also in talks to launch direct flights from Qatar to El Salvador, according to Martinez.
Currently there are thought to be around 100 El Salvadorans in Qatar.


Deputy PM meets El Salvador FM
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met the Foreign Minister of El Salvador Hugo Martinez, who is currently visiting Doha. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and means to develop them, especially in the fields of economy and culture, in addition to the latest regional and international developments.
