San Salvador, June 27

During his official visit to El Salvador, Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, received, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, the symbolic delivery of "Maquilishuat" by the Minister of Public Works of El Salvador, Mr. Romeo Herrera. This symbolic delivery is part of the "Plant 10 million trees" initiative, which aims to plant one million trees before the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

El Salvador joins this initiative by contributing 125,000 trees per year, which will constitute a total contribution of one million trees until 2030.

During the aforementioned symbolic handover ceremony, the State of Qatar thanked the government of El Salvador for joining this important initiative that was taken under the commitments stipulated in the Paris Agreement to limit greenhouse gas emissions.
